Work on the visual effects of the film also took a year.
Bombairiya received mixed ratings. A review for the Indo-Asian News Service of the Hindustan Times was published: “Radhika Apte’s film is a crazy and soothing tribute to Mumbai. It captures with power and humor the polarized inclinations of the divided city. Of course, in the middle, the building of chaos built on the premise “A day in the life of Radhika Apte” (she won first prize solo), began to collapse. And one has the impression that the film tries to bring in too much physical activity, at the expense of the plot and the characters, to give them the space they need to breathe. But it’s a tribute to a city out of breath. And the rhythms of the film follow. No time to ask why. It’s enough to act”.
